Securing Cisco Unified Communications - Free Computer Based Training

Securing Cisco Unified Communications—Empowered Branch (SECU-EB ) teaches the steps for improving the security of Cisco Unified Communications (UC) systems enabled by Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (UCME) in a Cisco Empowered Branch setting.

Based on Cisco and industry leading practices and the latest in Cisco UCME security features, SECU-EB has tutorials, videos, and configuration examples that teach you how to configure Cisco UC systems to ensure maximum security. You can also practice what you learn in a safe training environment through e-lab simulations of the Cisco IOS software command-line interface while testing your knowledge using the built-in assessment quizzes.

Learn how to:

  • Manage risk pertaining to VoIP security including threats, vulnerabilities, protocols, devices, and security policy.
  • Identify the top critical security strategies that increase the security posture of VoIP networks using Cisco UC solutions.
  • Recognize specific actions system administrators should take to implement the top critical security strategies.
  • Configure security on Cisco UC systems, Cisco IOS routers, and Catalyst switches using the Cisco IOS command-line interface (CLI) and various GUIs.
  • Discover additional VoIP security resources, including leading practices, VoIP software security features, and Cisco security training for future reference.

If you are an entry- to mid-level system admin working in government, academia, or a critical infrastructure sector who administers networks that include Cisco routers and switches; an IT manager or CIO responsible for running government and critical infrastructure networks; or a professor in academia who teaches critical infrastructure security, then this course is for you. It can benefit government, academia, and critical infrastructure sectors, as well as any enterprise deploying Cisco UC.

This course sounds really helpful, but I also suggest using the Cisco learning network while you’re studying for the certifications. It’s got a lot of up-to-date information and general news about the IT industry which is really usefull even for seasoned professionals. The community forum is a relaly great resource, too.
